LE VILLEJUIF UNDERGROUND is a collaborative of Australian songwriter Nathan Roche and three disturbed Frenchmen from Villejuif (formly of Geto Tropic) in the southern suburb of Paris.
Three years of playing virtually every stinking bar, squat, bistrot, concert venue and cultural centre in France, and festivals including Rock en Seine, Nuits Sonores, Dour Festival, La Ferme Electrique, Transbordeur they have also released a debut LP on SDZ Records in 2016, and a 7" "Heavy Black Matter" on Born Bad Records the same year.

Their unpredictable brand of garage, pop, country & disco has drawn comparisons to bands inspired by lazy journalism which no one in the group feels connected to and support slots and praise from King Khan & The Shrines to Fondation Louis Vitton.
They have toured Belgium, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, China and are in search of high adventure and free drink, broken down cars and vintage amplifiers will not weary them.

For biographical purposes and Facebook events, rough inspirations could be:
TRIPLE SIX MAFIA, THE BAND, TG GONDARD, THE FUGS, KIM FOWLEY, THE BEACH BOYS AND LIVE BOOTLEG POETRY READINGS BY DAVID BROMIGE.

But it might sound like nothing else and it's probably for the best.
A live set of pure, energetic madness. Pop melodies to save the soul, and discordant chaos to shatter the ear-drums contained in a kaleidoscope lollypop with hallucinogenic effects... Kevin Ayers and Grandmaster Flash doing a session with The Country Teasers.

Le Villejuif Underground blasts open the doors of perception and leaves the borders open for all to wander in and out with the easy-going-attitude of a local bar around happy hour.
A new album "When Will The Flies in Deauville Drop?" to be released in September/October 2018.
