Turner is Paul Kominek who was born in Poland in 1978 and grew up in Frankfurt/Main (Germany). Being classically trained on the piano, he discovered techno, something you could hardly avoid if you were living in Frankfurt around this time. Paul went to clubs (such as Omen, Xs, Wildpitchclub), bought his first equipment and started devising his own tracks. Having passed secondary school, his new home was to become Hamburg where he rediscovered playing the guitar, experienced new musical influences and founded the Dial record label with Lawrence and Carsten Jost. With his third album A pack of lies (released in 2002) Paul had impressively shown how to conjure up great pop music from the spirit of club culture – with euphoric reactions in several European countries. As the first words of a good novel are showing its deepness the new album Slow Abuse (Mute) starts with the genius statement: "You love sorrow and there's nothing I could do about it". You know you have to follow this lines thru the highest of heights the deepest of deeps. "Theoretically, this must be a thing from above." (Irritated)
