When Jonas Poppe and Sebastian Dassé, born in Berlin,
founded Kissogram they´ve owned less than a moderate
synthesizer and a eighttrack-taperecorder. The first
recorded
tracks felt like fast, bohemian and ironic popsongs.
Now
Kissogram are a rock´n´roll disco built with
synthesizer
and drum computers, with pulsatile danceable
electrobeats,
new wave laconic, cool velvet underground asthetic
but
with a feeling for bowiesque anthems and small flashy
minor melodies - casually charming. From soft tragicomic
to elegiac and mightfull, with sensation but without sentimentality,
from airy fleer and esprit without platitudes the two dandies
of
the dark disco present themselves in polymorphic vestures.
On stage singer Jonas Poppe shows us an energetic vibe,
once
coltish and once cool aloof. Their debut album The
Secret
Life Of Captain Ferber has been produced by
Gonzales and
Renaud Letang in Paris and Berlin and has
been eleased on
the new Berlin label Louisville Records.
