Françoise Cactus (who is the singer and drummer with
Stereo Total) was vegging out in the most boring village
in French Burgundy and learned soon to use her spines. At
the innocent age of 12 years, she won the regional reader's
competition, but only 2 years later her cunning debut "Photo-Souvenir" was
labelled "Lolita Literature".
After studies in
Art History, Literature and Linguistics and breaking up with
adulthood (much too late, anyway) the desert plant was edging
her way towards Steppenwolf: Berlin. Here, she collaborated
with filmmaker Oskar Roehler and wrote the purely fictional "Autobigophonie".
Enmeshing oddities,
blemishing her wit aphorisms by swearing and exclamation
marks and warping the words as only foreigners can do, she
keeps her alert maiden-style. Forever 16.
